Summary for Onsala for Session 2017-3

Experiment End date Friend Result Problem Text
EA058B2017-10-31Jun YangSuccessNoneThere were some strong RFIs in the band. Tsys data had large variability. After 18:30 UT, Tsys became stable maybe due to high elevation and/or less human activity.
EB063A2017-11-01Jun YangMinor failuresWINDA problem with Onsala Astro-Flexbuff OS disk was found. To solve the problem during the day time, we stopped the observations shortly at 12:30 UT. This problem should have no impact on the recording after checking the output of scan_check. Due to the strong winds, the 25m radio telescope was stowed during 14:05 - 14:55 UT.
EB063B2017-11-02Jun YangSuccessNoneNo known problems.
EB063C2017-11-03Jun YangSuccessNoneNo known problems.
EC061A2017-10-26Jun YangSuccessNoneNo observations due to a broken chip in the antenna communication system.
EC061B2017-10-27Jun YangFailureANTNo observations because of a broken chip in the antenna communication system
EC062A2017-10-26Jun YangSuccessNoneAfter 18:36, Onsala had problem with the antenna control system. This was due to a broken chip. The bad chip was not tracked down until the beginning of the L band part. Thus, Onsala also failed to run all the rest C-band experiments.
EC062B2017-10-27Jun YangSuccessANTNo observations due to a broken chip in the antenna communication system.
EG078F2017-10-31Jun YangSuccessNoneNo known problems.
EG078G2017-11-08Jun YangSuccessNoneNo known problems.
EG099A2017-10-22OnsalaSuccessNoneNo known problems.
EG099B2017-11-04Jun YangSuccessNoneNo known problems.
EM128C2017-11-08Jun YangSuccessNoneNo known problems.
EM130A2017-11-01Jun YangSuccessNoneNo known problems.
EM130B2017-11-02Jun YangMinor failuresWINDNo observations after 2:25 UT due to the high winds.
EP103E2017-10-28Jun YangFailureANTNo chance to run the 25m telescope due to a broken chip in the antenna communication system.
EP103F2017-11-04Jun YangSuccessNoneNo known problems.
EP107A2017-11-07Jun YangMinor failuresNoneThe narrow band filter (130 MHz bandwidth) was not used until the morning (7h20m UT). During the earlier part, there were strong RFIs and Tsys data looked quite poor.
EP107B2017-11-09Jun YangMinor failuresWINDNo observations after 8:16 UT due to the strong winds.
EP107B2017-11-09Jun YangMinor failuresWINDNo observations after 8:16 UT due to the strong winds.
ES0832017-11-07Jun YangSuccessNoneNo observations for about 20 minutes (15h07m - 15h35m)due to an accident click of the button of "stow".
ES084A2017-10-29Jun YangSuccessNoneUsed LO=21000 GHz. No known problems.
ES084A2017-10-29Jun YangSuccessNoneCorrection: LO=21.000 GHz at Onsala
EY0292017-11-06Jun YangSuccessNoneNo known problems
GV0232017-10-20Jun YangSuccessNoneThe sub-reflector for dual S and X band observations were used. No known problems in the FS log file.
N17C32017-10-25Jun YangSuccessNoneNo known problems.
N17K22017-10-29Jun YangMinor failuresNoneThis NME observations and the next scientific user experiment requested to run the observations at about 21.7 GHz. With the default LO=21.5 GHz, this observing frequency is outside of the valid bandwidth (IF filter: 500 - 1000 MHz). The problem was found after the first ftp-fringe test. To get the right observing window, a new LO value of 21 GHz was used and the schedule was restarted. The telescope was on source again at 13:43:37 UT. After that, fringes to Onsala were found.
N17L32017-10-30Jun YangMinor failuresANTAfter an intensive investigation, a broken chip was found in the antenna communication system. After replacing the chip at the beginning of the observations, the 25m radio telescope was successfully unstowed. Fringes to Onsala were found right away after the source was tracked.
N17SX12017-10-19Jun YangSuccessNoneFringes to Onsala at 2.3 GHz were weak due to a room temperature receiver.
EC061A2017-10-26JIVEFailureNoneCould not participate due to technical issues
EC061B2017-10-27JIVEFailureNoneCould not participate due to technical issues
N17L32017-10-30JIVEMinor failuresNoneCommunication problem. Joined from scan 6.
EY0292017-11-06JIVEMinor failuresNoneSlope across band in LCP mostly, increasing with frequency.
EC062A2017-10-26JIVEFailureNoneAffected strongly by the E-series firmware amplitude issues - LCP band slopes in general, more severe in LCP with jump.
EC062B2017-10-27JIVEFailureNoneBroken chip in antenna control system meant O8 could not participate.
EG078G2017-11-08JIVEFailureNoneAffected strongly by the E-series firmware amplitude issues. LCP lower half of band slopes up with increasing frequency.
EG078F2017-10-31JIVEMinor failuresNoneEVN amplitude calibration issue affects this station somewhat here. LCP slopes up with increasing frequency in LCP.
EM130B2017-11-02JIVEMinor failuresNoneStopped after 2:25UT due to strong winds.
